As the creator of a self-defense program for women it was important for me to determine what was the best way to go about that. Being a martial arts instructor for over 18 years and having being exposed to numerous system and concepts I felt it was time to take a long hard look at the challenge ahead.
What I realized was that the simple approach has always worked the best regardless of whether it was for the recreational martial artist or a professional fighter the basic concepts were always the answer.
As I continue to post updates I am going to give you pieces of the puzzle that will hopefully make understanding this Self Defense system very easy.
The simplest piece of advice I can give people is to use a gift that everyone has and that is common sense. This answer main seem too easy to be true but let’s take a look at this example and see what you would do.
You work in an office building downtown that has a security guard stationed 24 hours a day. It’s late, you have put in a full day and everyone else has gone home and your car is parked in the buildings underground parking lot.
a) Do you walk to your car alone and just go about your regular business?
b) Ask the security guard to walk you to your car?
This should be a very simple answer but most people will overlook the obvious. Never feel that you are a burden especially when it involves your personal safety. The answer to the above situation would be “B” ask the security guard.
I will finish by saying I can’t stress enough the importance of using common sense as the “ultimate” self-defense tool.
Until next time be safe and take care,
