Avoidance the final part of the Self Defense Equation
Over the last month or so we have been concentrating on the importance of the Rapid Fire Self Defense equation, so lets quickly review what we have focused on till now;
1) Awareness- Always be aware of your surroundings and circumstance at all times never let yourself be caught of guard
2) Confidence- Portray a sense of self-confidence in the way you walk, posture and body language never let an attacker look at you as a helpless victim
3) Preparation- Prepare yourself both physically and mentally in a simple yet effective self defense program
The last part of the Rapid Fire Self Defense equation deals with avoidance. This is a vital part of the equation and is something that everyone can do and follow. I must stress the importance of educating yourself to avoid any situation that might place you in potential danger.
Using the following examples lets take a look at what this means and how we can go about implementing this simple yet effective strategy,
1) Do not run by yourself in secluded areas
2) Do not walk alone late at night
3) Do not open doors to strangers
4) Always be cautious around people you do not know
5) Never leave your drink unattended
6) Don’t let alcohol or drugs cloud your judgment
7) Whenever possible do not walk in underground parking garages alone
Whether it is a friend, co-worker, security guard etc. being with someone else will dramatically reduce your chances of being put into a potentially dangerous situation. You can now see how the whole Rapid Fire self-defense equation ties together and by following these basic guidelines you are definitely going to improve your personal safety.
